The Ohio College of Massotherapy (OCM) was founded in May of 1973 as the Buckeye College of Massotherapy, a non-profit higher educational institution. The name was changed to the Ohio College of Massotherapy, Inc. in April of 1984. OCM has been teaching massage to students on campus for over 35 years and is the second oldest massage school in the country!

The Ohio College of Massotherapy is an adult vocational education program offered to those who meet our admissions criteria regardless of race, color, creed, sex, religion, age, or national origin. The college was started to meet the growing demand of highly skilled massage professionals. Ohio College of Massotherapy students will be provided with thorough training to enable them to pass the State of Ohio Medical Board exams for licensure. To ensure this, OCM offers small classes, individual attention, caring and qualified instructors, cooperation, and support among staff and students.

The Ohio College of Massotherapy’s Online program is one of the first massage schools in the world to utilize the advanced technologies available to students, complete with real-time online question and answer sessions, instant E-mail, two-way audio, and hands-on residential intensive training.

The real time learning mode, coupled with the Internet’s streaming multimedia and interactivity, will deliver the multimedia content to create a learning environment that enables rewarding interchange between student and teacher.

Online Massage Education
Online courses are designed for students who live at a distance from the teaching institution or whose busy lifestyles prohibit traditional classroom attendance. It is enrollment and study offered wholly or primarily by distance education, through the mail, and through electronic media. It may also make use of video tapes, audio recordings, facsimiles, telephone communication, and the Internet through E-mail, and Web-based delivery system.

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Massage Therapy. Students are then eligible to apply for the Massage Licensing Examination administered by the State Medical Board of Ohio located in Columbus, Ohio.
